Pork Roast with Salad | Week’s worth of meat with 5 mins of prep work

This is one of my favorite things to cook because it is so easy to do and saves you a ridiculous amount of time when you’re preparing the next 4-6 meals. It’s always what I cook when new games release so that I can spend the maximum amount of time online. It’s also great for people with busy work schedules, you can cook this on a weekend and then have lunches/dinners already prepared for the next 3-4 days.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pork shoulder roast, generally I get one about 4-5lbs
  • Lettuce/spinach for the salad
  • 1/4th onion
  • Handful of mushrooms
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 1 clove garlic

Cooking:

The video explains it all pretty well. Main things to keep in mind is you want to sear it at 500 degrees for half an hour in order to build a nice crispy golden skin and seal in the juices. And then be sure to store the leftovers in an airtight container so that they don’t dry out. I usually just wrap my pork in aluminum foil and that seems to do the trick. Keep checking back, I’ll show you how to make fajitas and pork fried rice with this same recipe.

for the cooking instructions I’m a bit confused. you spit out a few numbers saying 500 degrees for half an hour. but then you say 20 minutes per pound and cooked it for an hour (was this at a different temp?). then you say you cooked it for another 75 minutes at 375.

If you have a 5lb roast. You’d cook it for 100 minutes total. Cook it at 500 degrees for 30 mins. Then 375 for 70 more minutes.
